Roger Hannon, Manager

Roger Hannon is a highly motivated and results-oriented professional with over 30 years of experience in adult education, literacy initiatives and community engagement. He has a proven track record in co-ordinating programs, building strong community relationships, and developing effective communication strategies. Skilled in writing, editing, public speaking, and social media, Roger is deeply committed to supporting adult learners and making a positive impact. In recognition of his dedication to adult education, he was named the 2020 Lifelong Literacy Champion for the QUILL Literacy Network region. 

Maria Bertrand, Adult Learning Facilitator

Maria Bertrand has devoted her career to supporting adult learners and strengthening opportunities for lifelong learning within the community. Drawing on her extensive background in social work, mental health, addictions, and education, she brings a compassionate, learner-centered, and holistic perspective to everything she does.

Although now semi-retired from the Learning Centre, Maria remains passionate about continuing her involvement in supporting adult learners through the five goal pathways: independence, post-secondary education, apprenticeship, secondary school credit, and employment. She believes that every learner deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential and is committed to helping individuals build the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed to achieve their goals.

Maria values the strong relationships she has built with community partners, educators, employers, and learners over the years. Known for her approachable nature, professionalism, and collaborative spirit, she continues to champion accessible, inclusive, and supportive learning environments that empower individuals and strengthen communities through education.

Since 2018, Stacey Dufton has been a dedicated Learning Facilitator for the Adult Learning Centres of Grey, Bruce Georgian, concurrently serving as the Site Lead for the Saugeen Shores Adult Learning Centre satellite office. Her extensive experience within Employment Ontario programs dates back to 2004, building upon her previous role as an Employment Advisor for a local Employment Services program. A lifelong learner herself, Stacey’s foundational education includes a Human Services Foundation Certificate and a Child and Youth Worker Diploma from Fanshawe College, complemented by numerous vocational development courses and training undertaken throughout her career. Rooted in the region as a Bruce County resident since 2004, after being born and raised in St. Marys, Stacey actively collaborates with various organizations, fueled by a genuine passion for empowering individuals to achieve their aspirations. 

Diana is a proactive, forward-thinking Adult Educator who brings heart, strategy, and efficiency to every learning space she leads. Specializing in digital literacy and practical skill-building, she helps adults build confidence with technology while swiftly creating learning materials that are engaging and easy to use.

With a Master’s in Marketing and a Bachelor’s in Hospitality and Tourism Management, she blends strategic vision with a focus on exceptional learner experiences. Since 2016, she has dedicated herself to supporting Employment Ontario and community adult education programs. Driven by a desire to continually better serve her community, Diana actively invests in her own professional development; recently earning her Adult Educator Certificate from Sault College.

Bilingual in Spanish and English, Diana creates welcoming, inclusive environments. Her TESL certification directly enhances her ability to support new immigrants as they improve their English language skills, empowering all adult learners to confidently reach their goal paths.

Since 2019, Susan has been a dedicated Adult Learning Facilitator with Adult Learning Centres of Grey, Bruce and Georgian. Passionate about empowering others, she actively supports learners in Walkerton, Hanover, and Durham, leveraging her strong connections with local partnering agencies. Having resided in Grey and Bruce counties for over two decades after living in the GTA, Susan brings a wealth of diverse experience from various industries. Her own journey of pursuing education later in life fuels her belief that it’s never too late to achieve one’s goals, and she remains committed to guiding individuals toward their full potential. 

For four years, Jodi has been a dedicated cornerstone of the Adult Learning Centre, serving as both Learning Facilitator and Site Lead, where she is deeply committed to empowering adult learners and fostering an inclusive environment for personal and professional growth. Beyond her professional roles, Jodi actively supports her church’s Refugee Support Committee, collaborating with volunteers to help newcomers settle and feel valued in their new communities. Her unwavering dedication to community service and belief in the transformative power of education and compassion truly define her impact. 

A community-focused professional with over a decade dedicated to empowering individuals through Employment Ontario to secure meaningful and sustainable employment, Katie now contributes to the adult literacy field, passionately supporting learners in their journeys of returning to education, enhancing essential skills, building crucial digital confidence, and paving the way for brighter futures that may include high school completion, college enrollment, or the pursuit of new career paths. Driven by the profound satisfaction of witnessing individuals achieve success on their own terms, Katie firmly believes in universal access to growth, learning, and thriving, and she is privileged to play a supportive role in the lives of many within her local community, drawing daily inspiration from the natural beauty of her Wiarton, Ontario surroundings and the remarkable resilience of the people she proudly serves, ensuring she remains closely connected to both the place and its inhabitants. 

Kat is dedicated to helping adult learners build foundational skills, confidence, and independence. Her background, including a Psychology and Environmental Studies degree from York University and a theatre-focused diploma, enriches her learner-centered approach, ensuring all instruction—from literacy and digital skills to job readiness—is relevant, respectful, and rooted in real-life experiences. With this diverse academic foundation and experience in education, nonprofits, and community programming, Kat creates inclusive and encouraging environments where she patiently provides practical tools and fosters growth, believing that learning should feel both possible and personal.  

As a Registered Early Childhood Educator with over 32 years of experience, Tammy dedicated to supporting children, families, and adult learners. She is passionate about lifelong learning and helping individuals build confidence, master new skills, and achieve their personal, educational, and career goals. At the Adult Learning Centre, Tammy provides tailored, one-on-one guidance in a welcoming environment, empowering every learner to reach their full potential.
